Praying the Scriptures: Romans 15:5-6

Romans 15:5-6 has Paul acknowledging that God is the source of endurance and encouragement. He prays that we may have a Christ-like attitude and be unified so that we may glorify God and Jesus.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Praying the Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 is another benediction prayer and ends with a reminder about God's faithfulness. 

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. Praying the Scriptures: Matthew 6:5-15

This section is a bit bigger than just the Lord's Prayer, because Jesus took the time before and after the prayer to give further instructions on prayer. 

Prayer

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

    on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

    as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

    but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
